A Week in Waubonsie
On Monday, April 3rd, 2023 with the morning sun at my back, my camera and I headed west on highway 92 from my rural home in Iowa to my very first artist in residency; a whole week in Waubonsie State Park in the Loess Hills. This exhibit is collection of what I captured during that week but it’s also a culmination of several years of learning, curiosity and a desire to dig deeper into the powerful connection I feel when surrounded by nature.
Indianola Summer Art Festival
The Indianola Public Arts Commission along with The National Balloon Classic, The Warren County Fair and Indianola Hometown Pride are bringing back our annual art festival in conjunction with the Celebrate Warren County Parade.
The two-day art festival will take place in Indianola’s historic Buxton Park on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 from 10 AM - 4 PM. This is the start of the National Balloon Classic plus the fourth day of the Warren County Fair, so artists can expect Indianola to be bustling with tourists, balloons, music and food!
The Garden Art Fair
The Annual Garden Art Fair at Reiman Gardens provides an opportunity for artists to share their garden and nature inspired art with the public. Visitors can browse over 50 eclectic booths, and buy products including jewelry, watercolor, pottery, woodwork, glass, photography and more!
