Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge is located just outside Prairie City, Ia. The goal of the refuge is to restore the Tallgrass prairie and oak savanna ecosystem that was once the majority of landscape across Iowa. The drive through tour is one of its major attractions. Guests who time it right, have the thrill of getting up close and personal with the refuge’s inhabitants.
